My sister and I have teamed up to eliminate a few items off our "To-Do Lists". Last week we worked together to replace her Powder Room base cabinet, sink and faucet. We struggled a little with getting the old water lines out and had to cut the cabinet floor to remove it. Our battery powered drill had no power. That showed us down a bit. But after a fabulous grilled trout and fresh salad lunch, there were no leaks when we finally finished installing the new cabinet and turned on the faucets! I'm presently looking for an inexpensive small towel bar and a backsplash too. She wants to make a seaside-tropical fish-type room. It's already a gold color and the blues will only make it look prettier. We'll keep tweaking that room a little more later....
This week we conquered the hideous clutter and junk in my darkest basement room. We sorted through a rack full of paint and divided it into floor paints, exterior paints and miscellaneous tiling supplies. There was wood spread all over the place and half-done jobs on the island work table and debris on the brick floor. We installed a pull chain shop light and inserted the daylight flourescent tubes--until yesterday there was only a lone light bulb.....the darkness has been my excuse for the inexplicable method of keeping the paint and supplies organized. It's still not a McMansion-finished-basement type room, but it's bright and organized! Our lunch was at The Cafe in the Oliver House downtown ---no we weren't so dirty we couldn't go out. I had purchased a $10 certificate for The Cafe on Restaurant.com for only $1.20. With two lunches and two cappuchinos, the bill was only $12.00 with the tip. Downtown was busy because it was opening day at the Mudhens.
Teaming up to do jobs like this is the way to go.
